Trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange exceeds 22 million hryvnias

For a second day in a row the trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange has hit record highs. On August 6, 2009 the traders executed 729 trades with a value of 22,491,937 hryvnias.

The previous record was set on August 5, 2009 when a record number of trades was made (753) for a record value of 21,195,349 hryvnias.

On August 6, 2009 the equity index calculated by the Ukrainian Exchange gained 1.21% to reach 1,117.47 points.

The top sellers of the day remained Ukrnafta shares with a turnover of 5,779,190 hryvnias followed by Ukrsotsbank shares with a turnover of 2,920,456 hryvnias and shares of Enakievo Metallurgical Plant with a turnover of 2,776,196 hryvnias.

The day’s top gainers were shares of Mariupol Heavy Machine Building Plant that climbed 19.23 % followed by a large gap by Stirol shares (7.43%) and the shares of Raiffeisen Bank Aval (2.25%).
